Pro Shrimp's comment: Anubias are great plants especially for low tech tanks. They are happy with low light and fertilisation and very robust. It's advisable to keep them in a slightly shady area of the tank to avoid algae growth on the leaves. Good flow nearby will further reduce this risk.

For a long time there is a myth going around that anubias (when pruned or cut) would be poisonous to shrimp and other inverts. This is NOT true and anubias are perfect plants for your shrimp tank and 100% safe.

Snails: Dennerle is a plant grower that does not use pesticides. We try to keep our plants snail free as much as possible, but we cannot guarantee these plants to be 100% snail free. If you are looking for 100% snail and algae free plants, we would suggest the Dennerle Plant It invitro plants, which are grown in a laboratory environment and then sealed.

Dwarf spear leaf, to give it its common name, is one of the most popular aquarium plants of all time. These are outstanding foreground plants that require the minimum of care. Special attention must be paid to the rhizome when planting: the thickened shoot must not be covered by substrate. These small Anubias grow best when tied to stones or roots (see Mbuna trees). They are also frequently used with cichlids from the Malawi and Tanganyika Lakes. This looks especially decorative among rock arrangements.

Anubias Nana on Driftwood with suction cup for easy installation in your tank. The driftwood is approximately 15cm long.
